The interior shows a radiating … Read more A striking Chinese stoneware tea bowl in the temmoku tradition, featuring a dramatic tortoiseshell glaze. The interior shows a radiating sunburst pattern in deep blue black and charcoal, veined with streaks of cream white and golden amber that open outward from a pale center pool toward a warm amber rim. The exterior carries the same iron ground glaze, with scattered blue black drips against the amber brown surface, consistent with glaze movement during firing.

The bowl sits on a low foot ring with unglazed buff tan stoneware visible at the base. A stamped mark appears within a double circle cartouche at the center. The form is classic — rounded conical profile, slightly flared rim, substantial weight in hand. The glaze effect shifts noticeably under different light conditions.

Measures approximately 2.5 inches high by 5 inches in diameter. Very good condition with light surface wear consistent with age and use. See less
