Six tole plates titled "Le Monde Renversé" (The REVERSE WORLD) by Au Bain Marie, Paris, featuring illustrations inspired by the 19th-century artist J.J. Grandville to adorn a faience service of the French Vieillard & Cie factory in the 19th century. The designs are inspired by Grandville's illustrations from the 1842 book "Scènes de la vie privée et publique des animaux," which depicts animals behaving like humans. The texts for the original illustrations were contributed by various authors, including Balzac and George Sand.
