JAPAN - Mid-Edo Period (1603-1868)
Suzuribako in nashiji lacquer, decorated in hira and taka maki-e with gold lacquer and kirigane, depicting a
figure in a hut by a river under a pine tree. The interior of the lid is decorated with
figures in a boat, pine trees, persimmons, and rocks under the moon amidst clouds, the interior in
hirame.
Dimensions: 22 x 20 cm .
Very good condition, small crack at one corner of the lid.
