Pair of Chinese porcelain vases, Qianlong period,
18th century.
Brought to France during the reign of Louis XV, they were mounted in bronze with dolphin motifs.
The bronze is remarkably finely chased, gilded, and polished with agate.
The bronze mount is of very high quality, with
a powdery pink glaze. In the center of two cartouches, two roosters and a butterfly are depicted in a garden.
On the body, friezes and chrysanthemum flowers typical of the famille rose style are represented.
Dimensions: 25 x 13 x 9 cm.
Excellent condition, no restoration has been carried out (verified under UV lamp).
Very minor glaze chips (see photos).
