These Rocaille-style candlesticks, crafted from chased and gilt bronze, rest on a shaped base and surmounted by a flowing stem decorated with flowers, shells, and scrollwork in the Louis XV Rocaille style.
Their curved lines evoke the fluidity of flowing water
. Removable bobeches were added later.
In the style of Juste-Aurèle Meissonnier.
French work, second half of the 19th century.
