17th-century Delft ceramic vase in the Kraak style, Chinese Wanli chinoiserie.
Marked SVE, Samuel van Eenhoorn, owner of the most famous Delft factory, De Grieckse A, 1678-1686.
Vase decorated in blue monochrome in the style of Kraak-type Chinese Wanli porcelain, featuring
compartments with Chinese furnishings.
Kraak porcelain was produced for the European market; Dutch merchants traded in carracks, and porcelain of this style was named after these merchant ships.
Chinese porcelain was very expensive and sought after in 17th-century Europe.
Some factories, like Delft, produced vases imitating this porcelain to meet market demand.
Damage to the neck.
This vase was used as a lamp (the vase is not pierced).
The lampshade and fittings are included.
Dimensions: 25 x 14 x 14 cm.
