The waxed pine surface just glows and will improve with age... just buff with a soft brush or old t-shirt to increase the shine. The old iron hardware combined with the random imperfections in the wood and dovetail joints at the corners give this piece a rustic charm. The blanket chest offers ample interior storage. The candle box on the interior top left side was converted at some point in time to two sliding drawers that have locks, but no keys. This pine chest could be used at the foot of a bed or in an entryway for storage, or as a coffee table.

Condition commensurate with age and use. Random imperfections in the wood including but not limited to scratches, scrapes, dark spots from old iron nails, inactive wormhole damage... see photos. Note the horizontal seams in the wood (sides and top, see photos) where the planks were joined. The construction is strong and sturdy, ready for many years of use. See less
