This mid-century set of chairs from France, comprised of two armchairs (fauteuils) and eight side chairs, have been designed in a style that draws heavily from the Louis XV Revival (Rococo Revival) period. Chair backs are gently arched at the crest with softly curved shoulders and slightly waisted sides, creating an elegant, violin-like silhouette rather than a straight rectangular form, and are upholstered from both front-facing, and rear-facing sides lending to their luxurious appearance. They are further embellished with serpentine aprons, shell-carved details, upholstery secured by brass nail head trim, and presented on cabriole legs. The armchairs are identical in shape and upholstery to the side chairs, while the scrolling arms add greater presence for table ends. The measurements for the armchairs are: 25.5"W x 26.5"D x 37.5"H. Seat is 20"H. Arms are 26.5" measured from floor.
