The vessel stands on ornate scrolling feet and is fitted with a sweeping curved spout and scrolling handle, giving the piece an unmistakably theatrical presence. The domed lid is crowned with an elaborate finial in the form of fruit and foliage motifs, while applied decorative mounts accent the lower body. A retailer’s plaque on the underside reads: “F.lli Gallo e Figlio, Via Dei Mille, 16, Napoli”, indicating its manufacturer.
