Crafted in Spain around 1960 by Spanish designer Navarro Argudo, this striking and versatile piece offers a variety of storage and display options. It will add traditional quality and a charmingly detailed and rustic, Spanish Colonial aesthetic and will enhance any interior with its lovely rich colouring.

Reassuringly heavy, this striking sideboard is made of Spanish walnut and is impressively sized, yet slim enough to suit narrower spaces. It features a substantial 3.5cm thick plank top with rounded corners above three oak-lined drawers and three shelved cupboards. Set on attractive and shapely carved feet, it displays a wealth of eye-catching carved panelling and original wrought iron metalwork.

Made in the Spanish Colonial style, at times described as Tuscan, Baroque or Brutalist in terms of design, its wonderful geometrical carvings primarily stem from the Moorish influences of the Spanish Middle Ages and are displayed in the tier-carved panelling to the sides and the matching geometric triptych detailing to the door and drawer fronts. The doors have impressive, traditionally forged wrought iron hinges and bolt-lock hooked handles and there are lovely teardrop handles and shapely mounts on the drawers.

All in all this is an exceedingly charming, useful and versatile designer sideboard, which will add lovely rich colouring, super traditional quality and a knockout aesthetic to any setting.

CONDITION
This super sideboard is in good vintage condition. Structurally sound and sturdy, it has only to be expected wear and historic touch ups to shows its age. Overall this is a very charming, impressive and versatile sideboard in lovely vintage condition and if well looked after it should be just as striking for generations to come – please see the photos.
