Drawn by renowned British topographical artist Thomas Hosmer Shepherd (1792–1864) and engraved by J. B. Allen, these beautifully detailed views date to the early nineteenth century and capture the elegance of Regency-era Bath with remarkable architectural precision.

Thomas H. Shepherd is considered one of England’s foremost architectural illustrators. His meticulously rendered city views documented many of Britain’s most important buildings and streetscapes during the first half of the nineteenth century and remain highly regarded by collectors for both their artistic quality and historical significance.

Each engraving retains its original hand coloring and is housed in its original vintage Newcomb-Macklin frame. Founded in Chicago in 1883, Newcomb-Macklin became one of America’s premier custom frame makers, supplying museum-quality frames for galleries, collectors, and institutions throughout the twentieth century. Today, Newcomb-Macklin frames are appreciated by collectors in their own right and are frequently found surrounding important American and European works of art.
