LOYS LUCHA
A nice French 1930 art deco chandelier in nickel plated solid brass holding a bowl by the glass manufactory of Loys Lucha. This was the company of Louis Joseph Chaffard-Luçon (1880-1951). Based in Paris Boulogne-sur-Seine this company was specialized in enameled glasses in art deco style. In French art deco lighting we can only find a similar high quality enameled glass by Maxonade or Aurys and by the Daum related company Leune in Nancy. Around 1930 Chaffard moved to 31 rue Fernand Pelloutier in Boulogne-billancourt. The octagonal shade of this pendant is done in enameled glass. On the outside of the bowl the glass has a structured surface. On the inside the glass shows an abstract white enameled pattern as well as colored flowers. The shade is signed Loys Lucha. Bowls with similar patterns are represented in my 1931 Loys Lucha product catalog.
The fixture has a total drop of 41 cm (16,15 inches) and a diameter of 40,5 cm (15,9 inches). It's in very good condition. I have re-nickeled and patinated the mount. It comes newly wired. The pendant holds a US standard base socket.
