Georges Viarmé
A beautiful French art deco pendant around 1930 in nickel plated bronze or solid brass. It holds a rare bowl signed "Ets. Viarmé ", for Les Etablissements Viarmé. Georges Viarmé had his workshop and store in Paris (at 156 rue de la Roquette) during the 20s and 30s. He was specialized in producing bronze lighting fixtures. The bowl on this pendant is a very rare almost impossible to find model. It is unknown which French glass factory produced this model for Viarmé. The bowl is done in frosted molded-pressed glass. It is decorated with honesty seed pods. The glass is almost clear with a touch of greyish mauve.
The chandelier is in good condition. The bronze canopy very well matches the looks of the shade. I have re-nickeled and patinated the authentic mounting. The pendant has a height of 43 cm (17 inches) and a diameter of 34,9 cm (13,75"). The fixture is rewired and holds an American standard socket.
