The protagonists of the compositions are cherubs displaying symbols of the Passion of Jesus, set in lush European-style landscapes, although one features palm trees. In one painting, a cherub presents Veronica's veil with Jesus' face, while another cherub venerates it kneeling. In the second painting, a cherub presents various instruments related to the Passion, including the red mantle, the crown of thorns, the dice played by the centurions, the rooster of Peter's denial, with the three crosses on the hill in the background. Both paintings, though devotional in nature, interpret the 18th-century landscape style, characterized by soft and delicate colors, with blurred backgrounds that highlight the figures and objects in the foreground. They are presented in contemporary frames (second half of the 18th century) carved with leafy and floral decorations and gilded. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
