Each vase is masterfully hand-blown in … Read more An exceptional pair of sculptural Murano glass vases produced by Cenedese in Murano, Italy.
Each vase is masterfully hand-blown in thick aquamarine-blue glass, enriched throughout with a delicate constellation of suspended air bubbles that lends the surface remarkable depth and luminosity. The softly rounded cylindrical bodies are encircled by bold, spiralling bands of translucent glass, applied by hand and flowing rhythmically around each form.
The contrast between the serene blue body and the clear, sculptural glass coils creates a sophisticated interplay of transparency, texture and reflected light. Viewed from different angles, the vases reveal ever-changing nuances, from cool ice-blue tones to luminous aqua highlights.
Both decorative and architectural in presence, the pair works beautifully as a statement centrepiece, displayed on a console, pedestal or dining table.
Subtle differences in shape, bubble distribution and spiral movement are characteristic of the artisanal Murano glassmaking process and make each vase entirely unique.
