The Japanese word "Uchiwa" (団扇) translates to "rigid fan" or "leaf fan" in English.
The image shows the famous design icon "Uchiwa I," an extremely large floor (or wall) lamp by the German lighting designer Ingo Maurer from the 1970s. Maurer drew direct inspiration from traditional Japanese fans for this design, aiming to create a particularly warm and soft light.
