This refined model perfectly embodies the ideals of the Vienna Secession and the European Arts & Crafts Movement, combining restrained geometric forms with outstanding hand craftsmanship. The table features a circular top supported by three slender uprights joined by elegant stretchers, all resting on a distinctive hexagonal base that creates a beautifully balanced architectural silhouette. Entirely handcrafted from hammered and patinated wrought iron, the table displays the exceptional forging techniques for which Goberg became internationally renowned. Its minimalist yet sculptural design makes it equally suitable as a wine table, lamp table, pedestal, or display stand for sculpture, ceramics, or decorative objects. Founded by Hugo Berger in 1895, the Goberg factory became one of the most important producers of artistic ironwork in Germany. Berger's creations were closely associated with the Vienna Secession and were sold through prestigious retailers including Liberty & Co. in London, Metz & Co. in Amsterdam, and Grau & Co. in Germany. Today, Goberg furniture and decorative objects are highly sought after by collectors of Arts & Crafts, Jugendstil, and Secessionist design. This example is fully stamped "Goberg, Germany" on the underside, confirming its authenticity. Its timeless design, exceptional craftsmanship, and historical importance make it an outstanding addition to collections of Arts & Crafts furniture, Vienna Secession design, or early twentieth-century decorative arts.
