Archimede Seguso Murano Ribbed Emerald Green Glass Lamp with Applied Crystal Collar. This elegant hand-blown Murano art glass table lamp by Archimede Seguso exemplifies the sculptural refinement and technical mastery that established the Seguso family among the most celebrated Venetian glassmakers of the twentieth century. Retaining its original Murano paper label and acquired from the estate of John Loring, the longtime design director of Tiffany & Co., the lamp is a distinguished example of postwar Italian glass design.

The lamp is formed as a graceful melon-shaped botanical vessel, its sculptural silhouette recalling an opening flower bud or seed pod. The richly saturated emerald green body is created in an optic mold, producing finely ribbed vertical lobes that catch and refract the light with remarkable depth and brilliance. Encircling the neck is a hand-applied collar of clear crystal petals, individually worked while the glass remained molten to create a fluid organic transition between the body and the socket. This combination of optic molding and hot-applied decoration demonstrates the exceptional craftsmanship that became synonymous with Murano's finest workshops.

Inspired by nature rather than literal representation, the design reflects the abstract botanical vocabulary embraced by Murano artists during the 1950s and 1960s, where elegant forms and luminous color took precedence over ornament.
