A refined pair of French Louis XVI Revival ormolu candlesticks dating to the Belle Époque, circa 1880–1900. Beautifully cast and meticulously hand-chased, these elegant candlesticks embody the restrained classicism that characterized the finest Parisian bronze workshops of the late nineteenth century.

Each candlestick is raised on a broad circular base encircled by a delicate beaded border above a finely cast band of stylized acanthus leaves. The tapering hexagonal shafts are richly decorated with alternating panels of trailing floral garlands, fluting, and classical husk ornament, culminating in crisply chased acanthus capitals supporting fluted candle cups with gadrooned rims. The harmonious proportions and exceptional quality of the chasing demonstrate the skill of accomplished bronze artisans working in the Louis XVI style.

Retaining their original rich fire-gilt ormolu finish with attractive age and gentle wear, the candlesticks exhibit the warm golden surface prized by collectors of nineteenth-century French decorative arts. A small impressed "HH" workshop mark appears beneath one base, likely representing a bronzier's or workshop's assembly mark rather than a retailer's signature.

Although inspired by eighteenth-century French design, these candlesticks possess the refined grandeur that made Parisian ormolu highly sought after by aristocratic interiors throughout Europe, including Imperial Russia during the Belle Époque.
