A large and compelling hand-carved and hand-painted sculptural sun figure attributed to the celebrated Mexican artist Sergio Bustamante. Standing an impressive 42 inches high and 27 inches wide, this whimsical yet powerful work embodies the imaginative spirit that made Bustamante one of Mexico's most recognizable sculptors and designers.

Rendered as an anthropomorphic sun, the sculpture combines a serene human face with radiating solar rays, outstretched hands, and elongated legs. The figure appears both celestial and earthly, transforming the sun into a living presence. The expressive face, framed by stylized rays, displays a calm and benevolent gaze, while the open hands suggest welcome, protection, and the outward transmission of life-giving energy.
