Degué
A pair of 1925-1935 French art deco wall sconces in nickel plated solid brass or bronze holding slip shades in clear frosted molded-pressed glass by Degué. The company of David Guéron, founded in 1925. Guéron employed the ceramist and designer Edouard Cazaux as his artistic director and head designer. In 1936 production stopped and the company finally closed down in 1939. This model pinecone shade is never signed. It is represented in the old Degué catalog as model #500.
The sconces are 28 cm (11,02 inches) high 21,5 cm (8,46") wide and 6,02 inches deep. They are in very good condition. Like most old slip shades some of them have small chips on the rim, which is not visible with the shade placed in its metal frame. I have re-nickeled and patinated the mounts. The fixtures come rewired. I placed American candelabra base sockets.
