Degué
A French art deco pendant light made circa 1930 in nickel plated bronze or solid brass. The mounting holds a bowl by Degué in clear frosted molded-pressed glass depicting a rock garden. This model is represented in the Degué catalog. It is marked 'ROC'. Degué issued several different shades with uncommon names such as roc and negra. Roc is an old-fashioned French word for 'rock'. Still used in certain French expressions like for instance 'solid as a rock'.
The pendant light is in very good condition. I have re-nickeled and patinated the authentic fixture. Note the canopy that makes a perfect match with the design of rocks and flowers on the bowl. This shade, model #706 in the old Degué product catalog, has a diameter of 35 cm (13,78"). The chandelier has a height of 46 cm (18,11"). I can shorten it on request. It is rewired and holds an American standard socket.
