This 1985 offset lithograph poster published by Nabisco Brands, Inc. is a piece of American military and Black educational history. Titled "Black American Generals and Admirals," the piece documents 70 high-ranking officers across the U.S. Armed Forces, including early-career portrait illustrations of General Colin L. Powell (depicted as Brigadier General), General Daniel "Chappie" James, and General Benjamin O. Davis, Sr.
Originally drawn by Winston-Salem artist James Huff and researched in collaboration with Dr. Earl E. Thorpe (North Carolina Central University), this work offers both rich historical narrative and a striking graphic wall presence.
Framed in its original warm oak wood frame and protected under clear acrylic glazing, this piece makes an exceptional addition to a gallery wall, home office, or curated collection of American history and Black Americana ephemera.
