The lid opens on hand-forged iron hinges to a deep and wide storage compartment that makes it versatile for an entryway, hall, or mudroom. One could even use it as a traditional footlocker placed at the end of a bed. There is a keyhole hidden in the frieze however the lock and key have since been removed. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to maintain this cherished antique for future generations. We believe this item to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
