It is a link you don’t see that often and that is labor intensive to make. Each individual link is squared off, and then the chain in its entirety is squared off as well, creating a piece that is intricate and angular. A tight link, it presents as a woven or braided wheat chain, as well as a square chain with a lot of depth. It feels solid and has the fluid, sinuous movement of a snake chain. Circa the 1970’s or 1980’s.

The chain is 2.05 mm thick and 18” long. It weighs 12.6 grams. Its squared shape allows it to drape nicely on the neck, and it has the width to handle a substantial pendant. It also looks great alone, and works as a unisex piece. It has a spring ring and a nice jump ring. Marked on the clasp for Italy, and 85 for 14k gold. See less
