conceived and entirely handcrafted in parma, italy, within a showroom that houses over 60 of the designer's exclusive lighting installations, "la couvèe" carries a unique design heritage. The millimeter-perfect balance of the structure is the direct result of over 30 years of experience at the highest echelons of international luxury fashion. Having served for nine years as the ceo of a japanese multinational corporation that owned iconic brands such as jil sander, the author now applies the same obsessive sartorial attention to the construction of volumes, the contrast of textures, and the absolute control of materials to industrial design.

kinetic architecture and material contrasts
the sculpture thrives on a fascinating contrast between the nobility of classic materials and the provocation of industrial ones. The artwork stands on a solid and refined white marble base (28 cm diameter), from which an elegant 120 cm tall golden tubular stem rises. The kinetic soul is composed of 11 bright orange polymer goblets (each 27 cm tall) pierced by the stem. While three of these are firmly anchored to the central structure, acting as visual pillars, the other eight are mounted on mechanical pivot pins. This ingenious solution allows the user to rotate and orient the cups at will, constantly modifying the silhouette of the sculptural totem and the direction of the light.

lighting engineering and total bespoke customization
the illumination is designed to create visual magic without ever straining the eyes. The lighting is entrusted to 11 x 4w led bulbs (8 cm diameter) featuring a spectacular gold chrome dome. This technical choice prevents direct glare, reflecting the warm light exclusively inside the orange cavity of the goblet and diffusing a soft, enveloping glow into the surrounding space. The electrical connections, entirely wired with ce-marked components, are masterfully concealed within the structure, culminating in an elegant gold textile power cable. As a made-to-order piece, the designer offers the possibility to customize the chromatic accent, providing a palette of 6 different goblet colors, making each sculpture an unrepeatable masterpiece.
