An authentic pair of antique Chinese apothecary cabinets dating to approximately 1846 during the Qing Dynasty. Originally used for storing and organizing traditional Chinese herbs and medicinal ingredients, each cabinet features numerous small drawers with hand-painted Chinese characters identifying different herbs and remedies.
The cabinets retain their original dark finish, herb medince names on each drawer, aged surfaces, and naturally developed patina. An open display compartment at the top of each cabinet provides additional storage and is framed by traditional carved details. Variations, fading, wear, surface marks, and minor irregularities reflect their age and long history of use.
