For sale is an exceptionally rare, authentic mid-century modern Model T-6-G table lamp designed by Robert Gage for the Heifetz Manufacturing Company in 1951. This iconic, highly interactive design was famously selected and featured in the landmark 1951 MoMA "Good Design" exhibition.
The lamp features its original enameled steel and brass structural rod frame supporting four pivoting colored lacquered Masonite panels. Each panel includes the distinct three-hole vertical adjustment configurations, allowing you to rotate the panels to manipulate the light.
Condition Report & Authenticity:
Frame & Panels: Excellent vintage structural condition. The white-enameled steel rods and brass components are sturdy.
The lacquered Masonite panels, specifically the red one, show some age-appropriate wear and minor scuffs but retain their structural integrity and adjust perfectly on the frame.
Please see all photos as they are part of the description..

The red panel has what looks like significant fading of the color . I know the lamp was kept in my Dad's art studio which had floor to ceiling windows, so possibly due to sun exposure over the decades. I will send more photos upon request.
Inner Shade: MISSING. Please note that the central, inner cylindrical fiberglass diffuser shade is not included. Highly viable restoration project for a collector or dealer.
Markings: The original paper Heifetz label is no longer present (common for this model), but authenticity is apparent by the specific three-hole panel geometry, materials, and frame construction.
Wiring: the lamp was rewired and is in working condition. I have what I think is the original cord, however it was spliced at some point, probably by my Dad. This old cord is included. See last photo. The rubber tips on the end of each leg are new. The original ones had decomposed quite a bit. Photographs are part of the description. I will send more photos upon request.
