Léon Hugue
A wonderful French 1930 art deco table lamp by the Paris based company of Léon Hugue, A nickel plated solid brass or bronze base holds a signed cube in clear frosted moulded-pressed glass.
Léon Hugue was a producer of art deco lighting in Paris during the interbellum (at 10 rue Pierre-Levée). He often used Degué made shades for his fixtures. The Hugue signed cube on this lamp was also made for Hugue in the Degue glass factories. The shade is signed Hugue and the base shows the HL foundry mark for Hugue Léon.
The lamp has a height of 25,3 cm (10") and the base is 11,5 x 11,5 cm. The shade measures 7,2 x 7,2 x 16 cm. The lamp is in excellent condition. The fixture has been re-nickeled and patinated and it is newly wired with cloth covered twisted cord. It will come with an American candelabra base socket and US 2-prong plug.
