It was fabricated in Paris, France in a 1920’s workshop during the prominent French Animalier movement. The Artist, Thomas François Cartier (1879–1943) was a celebrated French animalier sculptor. He focused on the realistic and powerful depictions of wildlife.
The rear edge of the base is signed,
“CARTIER” on right side.
