The tall rectangular frame is crowned by an elaborate hand carved crest, where a tied ribbon rises above a floral medallion surrounded by scrolling foliage and laurel leaves.
The carved wood frame combines gilded and painted finishes, creating a softly contrasting two tone surface that enhances the depth of the ornamentation. A finely beaded inner border surrounds the mirror glass, while trailing garlands descend from the upper corners. Carved rosettes and pendant details complete the balanced neoclassical composition.
