The scuttle has the name of maker impressed The name of this original complete coal scuttle is The Edinburgh made by premier maker Henry Loveridge & Co. The front features embossed brass panel of a bird, wheat-reeds, and foliage.it has gilt decorative borders and corner accents. There is tole decorations. The body is ebonized japanned metal with heavy brass top carrying handle and ornate hinges. The front door opens downward using a small brass knob. The scuttle has original zinc or iron liner. It has original shovel with heavy cast iron metal scoop with a celluloid
handle with metal finial. Built in brass bracket mounted on the back holds the shovel/scoop.
