An exceptional mid-century Italian hammered brass jardiniere or umbrella stand designed by Egidio Casagrande for Casagrande, Italy, circa 1950s.
Executed in richly patinated hammered brass, this sculptural vessel features a beautifully scalloped silhouette with deeply fluted sides that create a striking play of light and shadow. The handcrafted surface exhibits the subtle irregularities and artistry that define Casagrande’s celebrated Brutalist aesthetic, while the naturally aged brass has developed a warm, nuanced patina acquired only through decades of use.
