The colors are mottled array of pink, orange tangerine, tan and veins of light gray. Soapstone is a soft smooth rock made mostly of talc. It is hand carved. This box has great weight. Rich soapstone deposits came from Kenya, India and Canada. They are mined by hand, carved, dyed and then etched into jewelry and keepsake boxes. All are different. Perfect for anywhere in your home.
