Vintage English Royal Windsor Duchess bone china sandwich or cake plate
Cattleya orchids were once called the queen of orchids, and whoever chose them for this Royal Windsor sandwich plate clearly agreed. Made in England in the Duchess pattern, it carries the quiet confidence of mid-century English tableware, refined without being fussy.
Royal Windsor produced bone china built for both use and admiration, and the Duchess pattern was among their more elegant offerings. The painterly orchid blooms are rendered in the warm, layered style typical of the era, sitting beautifully against the white ground.
