The vase features a fabric-impressed textured surface, likely pressed with burlap or coarse linen while the clay was wet, leaving behind a rich, tactile cross-hatch pattern across the entire body. The form is asymmetrical and sculptural, with an organic flared neck and angled silhouette that feels equal parts brutalist and artisanal. The hole is 2" diameter.

Finished in a warm cream glaze that pools and breaks over the raised texture, revealing the earthy clay body beneath. Burnt orange accents at the base and rim edges.

A wonderful sculptural statement piece for a console, shelf, or mantel — equally at home in an organic modern space or layered into a maximalist, collected interior. A dated, signed example of late-1960s American studio ceramics. See less
