This exceptional mid-century modernist stoneware bottle vase represents a superb example of 1970s Italian studio pottery. Designed by visionary master Franco Bucci for the legendary Laboratorio Pesaro workshop, this piece perfectly embodies a sophisticated dialogue between organic minimalism and structural elegance.
The vase features an incredibly beautiful, fluid, and sculptural silhouette, seamlessly blending from a broad, bulbous body to a slender, architectural neck. The glaze features a stunning warm beige and cream hue that delicately fades toward the upper rim, capturing and reflecting natural light with immense delicacy. The lower body is enriched with a mesmerizing series of incised horizontal ribs—a signature element of Bucci's craftsmanship—that wrap around the circumference like waves, adding a tactile and profoundly visual rhythm to the overall form.
The underside is in immaculate condition and proudly bears the authentic, hand-painted brown oxide "LP" (Laboratorio Pesaro) artisan monogram, documenting its coveted early production phase. This is an absolutely beautiful and sophisticated collector's object, ideal as a minimalist statement piece for high-end contemporary interiors.
Condition Report:
The item is in excellent vintage condition, entirely solid, structurally intact, and free of any chips, cracks, or restorations. The glaze remains vibrant with an incredibly smooth finish, showing only the lightest, honest signs of age entirely consistent with its 50-year history. On the upper section near the rim, there is a minuscule pinhole speck; this is an entirely authentic artifact from the original manual kiln-firing and glazing process rather than a defect, adding to the genuine studio character of the piece.
