Its three square legs, tapering slightly towards the bottom, are joined directly into the thickness of the tabletop without any crossbars, giving the piece a rare formal restraint and a beautiful honesty of construction. The solid wood, likely pine or stained oak, displays lovely shades ranging from reddish-brown to dark brown, with a depth of tone that only years and prolonged use can provide.
