This rare shape features a tall, globular body with subtly flattened sides that elegantly taper inward toward a narrow base, bearing a striking resemblance to early American chestnut flasks. Deeply kicked-up base, notably clean without a pontil scar. Wide neck terminating in a thick, round, applied collar rim.Finish: Features a classic sheared and ground unpolished mouth. Dating to the 1800s, this utilitarian masterpiece was designed for premium durability. Its wide, stable base and flattened sides prevented rolling during maritime transport or travel in carriages, making it a favored vessel for aging fine wines, brandy, or storing precious apothecary elixirs and herbal remedies.
