I acquired this pair during a buying trip back to Kentucky from a retiring antique dealer who had imported them from France many years ago. Their age is evident in all the right ways, with layers of surface oxidation, remnants of the original green paint peeking through, and decades of honest wear that simply cannot be replicated.

The sculptural silhouettes are equally at home flanking an entryway, anchoring a garden, or creating a dramatic statement on a covered terrace. Fill them with overflowing Boston ferns, ivy, or seasonal blooms, and they instantly become the focal point.

These have not been restored because their rich, naturally aged finish is exactly what makes them so special. They embody the romantic character of old French garden décor and would be difficult to duplicate today.

A truly exceptional and increasingly hard-to-find pair.
