Exemplifying the understated luxury and unparalleled attention to scale defining mid-century Scandinavian design, this rare pair of Danish Modern wingback lounge chairs was crafted by masterful cabinetmaker Frits Henningsen. Running his own independent Copenhagen workshop, Henningsen meticulously oversaw the production of his pieces, prioritizing both human comfort and elegant, organic forms.
This specific model features an exceptionally compact and efficient footprint, showcasing a beautifully scaled wingback silhouette that curves gracefully forward into contoured, sloping track arms. The fully upholstered body sits upon low, tapered solid wood legs, completing its classic stance. They are wrapped in a tightly woven, textured blue-grey fabric that beautifully accentuates the sweeping lines of the frames. Acquired in 2015, this pairing offers a sophisticated, versatile aesthetic with a comfortable 17-inch seat height. They are ideal as a refined sculptural anchor in a modern living space or an upscale study.

Acquired 2015 from Denmark 50 and it has not been reupholstered since acquisition. Uncertain of history of reupholstering. Frits Henningsen rarely marked his furniture, as he produced pieces in small, exclusive batches within his independent Copenhagen workshop. Occasionally, case pieces or tables might feature a subtle ink stamp or paper label, but the vast majority of his custom, handmade upholstered seating lacks any physical maker's mark less
