Measuring an impressive 12.5 inches long, this oversized serving spoon is commonly referred to as a stuffing spoon, though it is equally suited for serving vegetables, casseroles, mashed potatoes, or other holiday side dishes.

The front of the handle features a beautifully engraved reproduction of the original presentation inscription:

"Rochambeau to Lt. Gov. Jabez Bowen, R.I., 1780,"

while the reverse is decorated with an elegant engraved armorial crest, paying tribute to one of Rhode Island's prominent Revolutionary War figures. Produced by Gorham in durable electroplated nickel silver (marked Gorham EP N16), this piece was made for heavy hotel and restaurant service, giving it a satisfying weight and exceptional durability.
