This is a one-of-a-kind pair of ceramic table lamp bases, artist's studio originals, decorated by hand with a chinoiserie peacock and botanical motif. Peacocks, magnolia blossoms, wisteria, foliage, and butterflies cover a rounded urn form with a flared neck. The subject follows the chinoiserie tradition that came into European decorative arts in the 17th and 18th centuries. The printed pattern is contemporary. Each lamp has a brass socket and a textured, linen weave wrapped column neck. The look suits chinoiserie, Hollywood Regency, Grandmillennial, Palm Beach, and traditional interiors.
Each lamp measures 10" W x 16" H, from the socket to the base [add the depth]. As a pair, they suit flanking a sofa, console, or sideboard, bracketing a bed on matching nightstands, or placing on a dresser, buffet, entry table, or mantel.
The lamps are fully working. They are sold as lamp bases only, with the harp fitting. No shades are included.
