Robert C. Fritz (American, 1920–1986)
Signed Hand-Blown Studio Art Glass Sculpture
Offered is an exceptional original studio art glass sculpture by renowned American glass artist Robert C. Fritz (1920–1986). Hand-blown in luminous olive green glass, this sculptural work embodies the expressive organic forms that defined the American Studio Glass movement.
Rather than serving as a functional object, this piece is conceived as a pure sculpture. Its fluid, asymmetrical silhouette and deeply sculpted interior create a remarkable sense of movement, as though the molten glass has been frozen in time. Thick layers of transparent glass capture and refract light from every angle, revealing dramatic curves, flowing contours, and exceptional depth.
The sculpture is expertly finished with a polished pontil and is signed “Fritz” on the underside by the artist.
Whether displayed on a pedestal, shelf, or illuminated cabinet, this striking work commands attention as both a fine art object and a superb example of American studio glass.
Measurements:
Height: 6 inches
Width: 6 inches
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Minor surface wear to the polished base is consistent with age and careful handling.
