An exceptionally refined pair of Neoclassical-inspired occasional tables by the esteemed John Widdicomb Company, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Masterfully crafted with richly figured burl wood veneers in a warm amber finish, these elegant tables showcase the exceptional craftsmanship and timeless design for which Widdicomb is renowned.
Each circular table is distinguished by finely cast antiqued brass and bronze ormolu mounts, including striking Egyptian Revival female bust capitals, classical urn appliqués, beaded trim, and gracefully tapering square legs terminating in decorative sabots. The architectural stretcher base features an elegant concave profile accented by a continuous gilt gallery, creating a balanced silhouette inspired by French Empire and Directoire designs.
The beautifully matched burl veneers display remarkable movement and depth beneath a lustrous finish, making these tables equally suitable as sophisticated end tables, lamp tables, or bedside stands in both traditional and contemporary interiors.

This matched pair has been exceptionally well preserved, retaining its original finish with richly figured burl wood veneers that exhibit excellent color, depth, and chatoyance. The brass and bronze mounts, including the Egyptian Revival bust capitals, urn appliqués, beaded moldings, and sabots, display an attractive, naturally aged patina that enhances their character. The tables are structurally sound, sturdy, and level. Light surface wear, faint finish rubs, and minor signs of age and use are present, consistent with careful ownership and expected for vintage examples. No significant veneer losses, structural repairs, or notable damage were observed. Overall, they present beautifully and are ready for immediate placement in a refined interior.
