Classic Finnish Glassware ~ Ultima Thule Footed Bowls by Tapio Wirkkala for Iittala, Set of 2. These bowls are still made today so unable to determine if they are vintage or current.
Per the Iittala website: "Legend Tapio Wirkkala was a pioneer in glass design. Wirkkala defied the rules of glassblowing with his iconic Ultima Thule collection. Inspired by ice and snow, Wirkkala spent nearly a thousand hours with the glassblowers at the Iittala Glass Factory, to recreate a unique slice of Nordic nature. Characterised by a rounded base with three ice peaks that float above the surface, the groundbreaking Ultima Thule brings a piece of arctic nature into any interior. A dynamic mix of art and function, the classic Finnish glassware cemented its iconic status when Finnair began using it in first class."
