This is a late 19th-century hot water or coffee samovar or percolator composed of copper with brass and pewter accents. It is raised on three footed cabriole legs. Other details include a pumpkin-shaped body created with brass dividing accents, egg-and-dart bands along the rim and base of the pot, wooden handles retaining their black paint and resting on ornate brackets, and a brass spigot. Its rustic condition and missing components make it suitable for repurposing as a charming planter.
Percolators of a simpler, more stripped-back design and similar shape were made by Landers, Frary & Clark in the early 20th-century, which leads us to believe that this is an earlier, rarer version that mass-produced, later versions were based on.
