A set of three rare and lovely majolica-barbotine plates decorated with a charming relief design depicting a pair of parakeets/parrots perched on a flowering branch. Hungary, circa 1950.
Celadon turquoise ground, birds in shades of green, yellow, and burgundy, cobalt blue flowers. The relief design creates a beautiful play of light on the glossy glaze.
The rim is delicately worked with a relief cloud motif.
A brown border accentuates the design.
These plates can be used as wall decorations, displayed on a piece of furniture or shelf, or for practical purposes.
In very good condition. No chips or cracks. Some minor wear to the relief design.
Not stamped.
