The top features an original … Read more Antique French Napoleon III desk made of fine exotic wood with finely chased gilt-bronze accents. The top features an original period-era chased leather covering bordered by a gilt-bronze trim. The front features three drawers embellished with gilded bronze vents and handles featuring a leaf motif. The four corners are adorned with large gilded bronze finials featuring a leaf motif typical of the period. The four legs have the classic curved shape and are topped with gilded bronze caps skillfully chased. The opposite side is a mirror image of the front. The interior is made of oak. Condition: Restored by our master craftsmen using traditional methods with handmade shellac and alcohol. Provenance: 19th-century France. Dimensions: 160 x 80 x H82 cm.
