Traditional Japanese haribako (針箱) sewing boxes are compact, handcrafted wooden cabinets historically used to store needles, thread, scissors, and personal accessories. Antique and vintage variants are highly collectible today, frequently repurposed as distinctive vanity organizers or jewelry boxes. This box showcases a rare, symmetrical two-drawer design, traditional haribako often feature an asymmetrical layout of multiple drawers, sometimes paired with a top hinged lid concealing a hidden tray. I believe the wood is walnut and the pulls are mid century style.
